Press Release (Guilford, CT, June 2015):
Taylor Trade, an imprint of Globe Pequot, is proud to be bringing back into print two classics by legendary comedian W.C. Fields.
Fields never got around to writing his autobiography, but at his death in 1946, he left behind a vast assortment of notes, outlines, scrapbooks, letters, scripts, scenarios, and photographs. His grandson, Ronald J. Fields, has edited and woven this wealth of material into a unique portrait of “the Great One”—in his own words. The result is W.C. Fields By Himself: His Intended Autobiography with Hitherto Unpublished Letters, Notes, Scripts, and Articles, and Taylor Trade's new edition will have a foreword by Conan O'Brien.
In the wonderful parody Fields for President (978-1-6307-6171-4, February 2016, $12.95 paperback), W.C. Fields announces his candidacy for our nation's highest office. He offers sound advice on a number of topics in classic Fields-style humor in his attempt to win votes. Our new edition has a foreword by Dick Cavett.
